Who is Swataa?
Swataa is an independent producer, DJ, and singer-songwriter from Columbus, OH. Self-taught and versatile, she blends poetic lyrics, electronic production, and acoustic elements to create emotive soundscapes that explore the complexities of life.
Her performances are as dynamic as her music, ranging from experimental bass music DJ sets to intimate acoustic shows and hybrid DJ/guitar festival sets. Recent releases include the EP ‘Practice Not Perfect‘ and ‘Infatuated Dreaming‘, showcasing her ability to weave raw emotion with intricate production. Remixes of songs such as ‘Disposable‘ speak to her ability to blend acoustic and electronic genres.
With a background in behavioral neuroscience, Swataa brings a unique depth to her artistry, captivating audiences with her passion and innovative sound. She is currently self producing her second EP ‘Meditations in Motion.’ Her music is available on Spotify, Apple Music, SoundCloud, and Bandcamp.
Why Solshine Music Festival?
In 2023, Swataa volunteered with Soul Patch at the final rendition of Summer Camp Music Festival, where she connected deeply with the community’s mission of stewardship, sustainability, education, and, of course, music. Inspired by this experience, she returned in 2024 to volunteer at Solshine Reverie, where she also led the workshop “Cyclical Creations: Tuning into Nature.”
Looking ahead to 2025, Swataa hopes to further her contributions by performing music that fosters a profound connection between people, themselves, and the environment we all share.
